This 6-week class series offers a deeper introduction to the meditative art form that is Ikebana. No prior experience necessary: this class is designed to be a first introduction with a progressive curriculum that will provide strong foundations for further personal practice.
Classes meet every Wednesday at 10 am, starting Wednesday, August 5th. Each class lasts ~2 hours.
What is included:
Six group Ikebana lessons (10 am to 12 pm every Wednesday starting Aug. 5)
Flower/branch materials
One Kenzan (8-cm diameter pin frog)
One Suiban (wide-mouth, shallow vase for free style)
Important:
A minimum of 4 participants is required for this workshop to be offered. If we do not reach this minimum, the series will be cancelled and you will be issued a full refund. Class size is limited to 8 participants.
Kenzan and suiban will be provided during the first class and are yours to keep. Please bring these back for use in each subsequent class. Any other material(s) needed to create your arrangement (e.g. pruning shears) will be provided as loaners during class.
We will cover beginning principles of free style (Moribana and Jiyuka - 5 classes) and also introduce Shoka (1 class).
All sales are final. No refunds will be issued for missed classes.
In the unlikely event that I need to cancel specific class(es) within the series, you will be offered a refund for the cancelled class(es) (i.e., $50 per class), or a credit toward alternate class(es).
